Appointment System for Non-immigrant Visas for Residents of Iran

Iranians seeking a non-immigrant visa require an appointment. Our interviewing capacity for Iranian applicants is limited, so appointments are not always readily available. Individuals are able to make their own appointments and the use of a travel agent is not necessary.

New appointment dates for Iranian applicants are generally made available every other Wednesday. Please visit the website for the U.S. Consulate General in Dubai (http://dubai.usconsulate.gov/) for

the most recent information. Appointments fill very quickly, so please plan accordingly. You need to schedule your visa interview through the Visa Information Service (VIS) center. VIS is open 9:30am – 7:00pm (Dubai time), Monday through Friday, except for holidays, as appointments are available.

To schedule an appointment for residents of Iran, please follow the steps below:

1. Call the VIS at the U.S. phone number

+1-703-439-2322. Farsi and English speaking service agents are available to schedule the appointment. You will need an international credit card.

2. Provide your international credit card number and pay a USD$20 appointment fee to the VIS agent. You may schedule appointments for up to five (5) immediate family members at one time with one appointment fee.

3. Changing the date of your interview is possible, but you will not be able to change the name or passport number of the appointment.

Iranian non-immigrant visa interviews in the UAE are conducted at the U.S. Consulate General in Dubai only. The U.S. Embassy in Abu Dhabi processes Iranian immigrant visas.

Appointments for Iranian Student and Exchange Visitor Visa Applicants:

Iranian academic students attending a university, college, or other academic institution who were not able to make an appointment through the VIS system in time to allow them to meet their start date may send an e-mail with a scanned copy of their I-20 or DS-2019 forms to

DubaiVisaStudent@state.gov

Please do not send repetitive e-mails. We will consider your request and communicate with you directly. Further, if you have falsely obtained a student or exchange visitor appointment for travel purposes other than studying in the U.S., your application will not be accepted when you appear for your interview.

Appointments for Emergencies and Urgent Medical Treatment:

Iranian applicants wishing to travel to the U.S. for emergency reasons or for urgent medical treatment should send an email to

DubaiVisaMedical@state.gov. You will have to submit documentation showing the urgency of your situation with your email request.
